Visit from Susan Venables

Susan of English origin and her husband Arthur Sager live in Pleasantville in Nova Scotia in Canada. While traveling to visit her family in England, Susan decided to take a detour through France to visit the village in Normandy which bears her name,  the village of her ancestor.

After a reception and snack with Venablois friends, Patrick Lequette and Francis Meyer, members of the CCGVenables, took Susan and Arthur on a tour of the village’s heritage, commenting on the history of the village and of Gilbert,  lord of Venables who accompanied the Duke William  in England’s conquest.

The visit to the church aroused Susan's emotions. After signing the CCGVenables guestbook and giving welcome gifts, we parted with Susan and Arthur's promise to come back in 2027 for the festivities which will be organized for the millennium of the birth of Duke William of Normandy.
